Providing Marriages & Families with Gospel-Centered Resources

How to serve your suffering pastor.

Written on September 1st, 2021 (originally posted to Facebook)

It has been a while since I have put any update on Facebook or the blog. Please forgive me as my emotions and thoughts are all over the place. I do hope to post a longer update here soon. However, I found this article from Acts 29 helpful and I wanted to share it with you. Also, it is a pretty short as well.

I have had many people from both of the churches that I have had the opportunity to serve over the past 22 years tell me that they are unsure how to help me or even what to say. This past weekend at a church picnic while I had many people come and say hi, there were others who I knew wanted to say something, but I could tell they were unsure of how to support or what to say. I totally understand this.

While this article isn’t sharing anything new, it does remind us all that suffering does not show preferences, and it is the simple things that probably are the most meaningful for those suffering. While I share this to be a helpful post for the church, I also want to share just how my present church (and my church family in PA) have been my greatest support during this time in all ways. If you are not part of a gathered body of local believers, you are missing out!!
